Here we are, middle of September, and most people wonder what happens at camp once the summer season end.  We actually had a nice four day break before our first school group came.  

This fall also looks a little different as Chelsea and Danny have wrapped up their full time service at camp.  Karen Padgett is doing a great job in the kitchen and Jess Huber, a recent Emmaus Youth Ministry grad, is staying on after spending his summer with us.  Jess is getting married October 24 and Celsey will be joining him then.

Pray that we would be the aroma of Christ to the school groups and church groups that come through our gates this Fall.  If you need a weekend in the mountains, we could always use extra hands on staff during our weekend retreats.

Dan and I had the opportunity to see Granny Nelson this last weekend.  She is doing amazingly well after a rough time physically last fall.  She just celebrated her 99th birthday in February and is as sharp as ever.

Granny was our first year-round cook at camp and served in the kitchen for 25 years and retired at the age of 80.  She continues to love the ministry at camp and is one of our faithful prayer warriors.  It's always fun to visit with her and reminisce about the "good old days" at camp.
