Winter Camps
Big wall climbs—massive climbing routes that often take multiple days to complete—are some of the most demanding feats of athleticism in the world. Climbers must have endurance and focus in order to scale multiple sections of rock to reach the top of the wall. But the best climbers know, when the conditions change and things don’t go according to plan, trusting in their own strength is folly. Their confidence isn’t in themselves, but instead in their equipment and in their belayer—the one anchoring the other end of the rope. In the same way, our faith requires endurance and focus, but our confidence is not in ourselves. Our strength can’t save us. Instead, we can have confidence in the one who holds our salvation in His hands—God Himself, in the person of Jesus Christ.
Fear and anxiety have reached epidemic levels among young people today. Many of the foundations of our world have come under attack. This winter at Camp Elim, boys and girls will learn about the One in whom they can place their absolute trust, the One who never changes. Each winter program features solid Biblical teaching, invigorating worship, delicious food, and a bunch of fun games and activities, supported by a group of well-trained counselors and staff who work hard to ensure that every camper feels safe, included, and loved. Through community with God and others, these programs will encourage students to leave Camp with a renewed faith and confidence in our great God.
